TAMPA - All lanes are open again on the southbound 56th Street bridge after officials last week closed the structure to make emergency repairs.
Officials announced the reopening Tuesday night.
Department of Transportation spokeswoman Marian Scorza said additional repairs to the 55-year-old structure will occur over the next few weeks.
"Any lane closures would happen at night," she said.
DOT officials closed the two-lane southbound span Jan. 22 after maintenance workers who were replacing a hand railing spotted gaps between the bridge surface and four concrete beams.
Officials reopened the southbound span at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday.
