Brush Fire Near Plant City Mobile Home Park Contained

County fire crews have contained a brush fire near a mobile home park at Tom Brewer Lane in Plant City.

The fire is visible from the mobile home park, but no homes or structures are threatened and evacuations have not been ordered, Hillsborough County Fire Rescue spokesman Ray Yeakley said.

The brush fire was reported about 4:15 p.m. and five county fire rescue units have responded to the scene, Yeakley said. The brush fire is in an area that is "off the beaten path" and firefighters have approached the blaze from Sparkman Road, south of Tom Brewer Lane, Yeakley said.

"It's in check," Yeakley said. "We'll allow it to burn itself out."

Yeakley did not have an estimate on how big the brush fire is. State forestry officials have been notified of the incident, he said.
