STATE FARM'S POLICY PLAN
State Farm's plan to drop more than 1 million homeowner policies would not be done at once. It would spread the cancellations over a two-year period, ending late in 2011. Here's how the timing would work:
90 days: How long state regulators have to review State Farm's plan to drop more than 1 million homeowner policies.
180 days: How much notice State Farm must give customers of a policy cancellation after the state approves the company's plan.
Late October: The earliest a policy could be dropped. Hurricane season ends Nov. 30.
Not affected: Auto insurance, life insurance and health insurance policies.
Policies to be canceled: Homeowners, condominiums, renters, personal liability, boats, personal articles, and business property and liability.
