A Poinciana man's business manufactured and distributed obscene material that might contain images of girls as young as 14, Polk County deputies say.
John F. Denitto, 55, runs The Antique Mall, 3170 U.S. 17 in Winter Haven. A confidential source told detectives Denitto had a room at his business set up like a studio and recently gave a girl $40 for posing nude. The girl said she was 14, the source told detectives.
An undercover detective went into The Antique Mall and saw Denitto with a sign advertising for models. Investigators asked Denitto what type of model he sought, and Denitto said he wanted nude female models and would pay $20 an hour, deputies say.
Detectives also spotted a "restricted area" room inside the business.
On Tuesday morning, detectives exercised a search warrant at The Antique Mall.
"During the search, several photo albums of nude women were discovered in various locations throughout the store," a news release states. "In a room adjacent to the southeast side of the business, detectives discovered a video camera, several photography books, a 35 mm camera, a Polaroid camera and several nude photos of women. In addition, 6 VHS tapes were seized.''
Investigators say Denitto sends the material he manufactures to a South Florida location and to an antique shop in Louisiana.
He told investigators he charges $65 to produce and manufacture pornographic movies, according to the release.
He was charged with six counts of manufacturing obscene materials and felony wholesale promotion of obscene material.
An investigation continues.
