WEEKI WACHEE - Deputies are searching for a man who tried to break into a car under the guise of an undercover officer.
Around 1 p.m. Friday, a woman sitting in her car in the parking lot of Weeki Wachee Village was approached by a man who claimed he was an undercover officer. The man tried to break into the car, but the door was locked and the woman drove away, according to the sheriff's office.
The man is described as a white adult, between 50 and 55 years old, 5 feet 10 inches tall with a thin build. He was wearing khaki shorts and a long-sleeved khaki plaid jacket, similar to an over shirt.
He left the parking lot at Commercial Way and Cortez Boulevard in a gold 1990s model four-door Mercedes Benz.
