Two men visiting a local house of prostitution on Thursday were robbed of their cash and cars.
The Manatee County Sheriff's Office reported getting calls about two similar robberies late Thursday in Bradenton. The victims initially reported being approached by a group of Hispanic men in local parks, and being robbed of cash and their cars. One was robbed of $700 and his Cadillac Escalade; the other was robbed of $40 and his Chevy Blazer.
Investigators discovered, however, that the robberies happened at a known house of prostitution located at 5714 A 12th Street E. Sheriff's investigators said each victim was robbed at gunpoint by a group of five to eight Hispanic men, tied up with their shoelaces and placed in one of the rooms in the house. The men eventually were able to break free and escape the house.
No suspects have been found yet, the sheriff's office said. Both vehicles were found in a nearby parking lot.
