BRADENTON - A Bradenton man faces charges after he spit on two women and pistol-whipped a witness, the Bradenton Police Department said.
Willie Harris, 29, was riding a bike in the 600 block of 19th Street East Wednesday at 6:30 p.m. when he was reportedly seen spitting on two women walking by. According to the report, Alfredo Garcia, owner of a nearby body shop, saw Harris spit on Melanie Shackelford and Tiffney Mosley, customers waiting for car repairs.
Officers say that when Garcia approached Harris, Harris hit Garcia. According to the report, Shackelford and Mosley saw Harris knock Garcia to the ground and punch him in the face several times before he also struck him with a firearm.
Garcia received 13 stitches on his face.
Officers said that Garcia later identified Harris in a lineup at the jail. Harris faces charges of aggravated battery.
