Bradenton girl shot in forehead

The Manatee County Sheriff's Office identified the victim of a shooting in Bradenton on Friday night as 17-year-old Jessica Masias.

Masias, whose address was unavailable, was shot in the forehead and remains in serious condition at Bayfront Medical Center in St. Petersburg, the sheriff's office said.

Deputies said Omar Flores, 17, of 2520 30th Ave. E., told authorities that he accidentally shot his girlfriend as they handled his gun.

Flores is charged with culpable negligence and improper exhibition of a firearm.
