Deputies in Polk County are looking for a man who robbed one convenience store where he dropped a plastic bag of marijuana during his get-away and was later seen at another store Sunday morning where he took money from the check-out counter.
The man came into a Circle K store at 933 W. Pipkin Road in Lakeland at 4:19 a.m. today and asked the clerk for a pack of cigarette wrapping paper. During the transaction, the man said he wanted money and told the clerk to comply to avoid problems, the Polk County Sheriff's Office said.
The clerk gave the man an undisclosed amount of cash from the register, the sheriff's office said.
Just before leaving with the loot, the man dropped the clear plastic bag of marijuana on the counter.
He drove away in a gray or pewter Ford Explorer.
At about 4:35 a.m. the same man was seen in a Circle K store at 3730 Airport Road. He took $1 off the counter, the sheriff's office said.
The man is described as between 18 and 22 years old wearing a black t-shirt and jeans and weighs about 130 to 150 pounds.
