A homeless man was found dead this morning in a wooded area off Gulf-to-Bay Boulevard, one day after another transient was found dead within a block or two, Clearwater police said.
The identity of the man found this morning was not available, said Elizabeth Watts, spokeswoman for Clearwater's public safety departments. He had been sleeping in a wooded area in back of 2794 Gulf-to-Bay Blvd., she said.
The man found dead at the edge of a parking lot at the Hooter's restaurant at 2800 Gulf-to-Bay Blvd. has been identified as Daniel Vespo Jr., 43, Watts said. He is identified in court records as a transient and was charged in February with sleeping or reclining in a right of way, court records show.
Neither death is suspicious, Watts said.
