TAMPA - JetBlue Airways will temporarily discontinue its Tampa-Cancun daily flights on Sept. 9 and resume them on Nov. 19. because of a lack of demand that has been affected by the swine flu issue in Mexico.
The airline announced the route in July 2008 and began service on Dec. 18, despite the poor economy.
.
Four other airlines have planned or tried Tampa-Cancun service since the 1980s before reasons ranging from hurricane damage in Mexico to low ridership forced the cancellations of service on that route.
