TAMPA - Busch Gardens is holding five auditions for first-time candidates for "Scareactors" to frighten guests at the park's annual Howl-O-Scream event, which will run on 17 dates this year from Sept. 25 to Oct. 31.
About 800 part-time jobs will be created for the event. Pay for beginners is $8.87 an hour, while those with one or more years of Howl-O-Scream experience will be paid $10.25 an hour.
More than 400 past participants have indicated they will try out this year, said Nancy Hutson, Busch Gardens vice president of entertainment.
"No experience is needed," Hutson said. "You should like to scare people and have fun."
