TAMPA - JetBlue Airways, citing dwindling demand linked to a swine flu outbreak in Mexico, is temporarily discontinuing its Tampa-Cancun flights.
The daily flights out of Tampa International Airport will stop Sept. 9 and resume Nov. 19.
The airline announced the route in July 2008 and began service Dec. 18.
Four other airlines have planned or tried Tampa-Cancun service since the 1980s before reasons ranging from hurricane damage in Mexico to low ridership forced them to give up on the route.
