ST. PETERSBURG - A St. Petersburg man was arrested today on charges of possession and promotion of child pornography, according to state Attorney General Bill McCollum's office.
John Kenneth Jackson will be booked into the Pinellas County Jail and is to be charged with 30 counts of possession of child pornography and one charge of promoting the sexual performance of a child, the office said.
Law enforcement investigators, working as the state Attorney General's Tampa CyberCrime Task force, found during a routine investigation child pornography images that were traced to Jackson's computer.
Investigators have seized three computers and numerous computer discs and DVDs from Jackson's home. The items will be analyzed to learn if they contain additional child pornography, McCollum's office said.
St. Petersburg police, the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement, and the Bradenton and Kenneth City police departments assisted in the arrest.
