Police: 4 men charged with raping 12-year-old runaway

CLEARWATER - At least four men have been arrested in connection to raping a 12-year-old girl, police said.

The girl, whose name isn't being released due to the nature of the crime, was reported as a runaway Sunday and was found Monday at a Clearwater apartment.

There, according to police, she had "consensual" sex with several men.

The age of consent in Florida is 16.

Four men have been arrested on charges of sexual battery, and more arrests are expected, according to police.

The investigation continues, and police haven't yet released the names of the men involved.
