NORTH PORT - Former Major League pitcher Billy Koch, 34, was arrested by North Port Police on Saturday after a fight with a neighbor.

The former Toronto Blue Jays closer was released on $1,750 bond Saturday and is charged with misdemeanor battery and felony criminal mischief. According to police, Koch, who lives in the 2300 block of Melrose Drive, got into an altercation with neighbor Angel Camacho, 46, after Camacho allegedly shoved Koch's stepson, causing a heated argument with Koch's wife, Brandi.

When Billy Koch got involved in the argument and followed Camacho up his driveway, Camacho reportedly took out a bat and began wrestling with Koch.

Koch allegedly wrestled the bat away from Camacho and began hitting Camacho's garage door while Camacho was trying to hide inside. Then Koch allegedly bashed a nearby car belonging to Melvin Habrat, who was staying at Camacho's house.

Koch, who also pitched for the Florida Marlins and Oakland Athletics, has not played professional baseball since 2004.
