ZEPHYRHILLS - A man died after turning up with a gunshot wound in a car parked on the railroad tracks Tuesday afternoon.
Zephyrhills police officers pushed the car off the tracks at Sixth Avenue and Airport Road about 1:45 p.m.
The middle-aged man inside the car, who was not identified Tuesday, was taken to the hospital in critical condition but died shortly after.
Pasco County deputies ruled the death a homicide. Investigators think the man was shot elsewhere and then passed out on the tracks, near the Zephyrhills Municipal Airport, according to sheriff's office spokesman Kevin Doll.
The sheriff's office is continuing to investigate.
