Three Jeep Wranglers were set on fire this morning, one in Largo and two in Belleair, officials say.
In one of the arsons, fire flashed to a vehicle near a Wrangler, said Lt. Mike Loux of the Largo Police Department.
Largo police are investigating the vehicle arson in Largo. The Pinellas County Sheriff's Office is investigating in Belleair, which does not have an arson unit, sheriff's spokeswoman Cecilia Barreda said.
Reports of the blazes started coming in at 7 a.m., Barreda said. The two in Belleair were at 1703 Belleair Forest Drive and 1709 Cypress Drive, she said. The location in Largo is not being printed as it is the address of a law enforcement agent, Barreda said.
Anyone with information is asked to contact Detective Larry Mclean of the sheriff's arson unit at (727) 582-6200. If the caller wishes to remain anonymous, he or she may call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-873-TIPS (8477).
