The editorial in Sunday's Trib, "Reducing abuse of state pensions," is just another example of misuse of the system.
I was talking this past week with one of the Hillsborough County employees whose job could be cut. That gave rise to the thought that many companies have anti-nepotism rules, the merits of which can be debated endlessly. I know there are a number of cases in which both husband and wife work for the county and sometimes children, too.
This "double dipping" could be eliminated through attrition if only one family member was allowed on the county payroll. It would certainly help spread the wealth around.
