Surgeon, lawyer named to air panel

TAMPA - Gov. Charlie Crist has appointed Tampa lawyer Steve Burton and surgeon Joseph Diaco to the Hillsborough County Aviation Authority.
Burton, 48, is managing partner of the Tampa office of the Broad and Cassel law firm, and a Republican fundraiser who has strongly supported Crist. Burton's brother, Glenn Burton, died suddenly of heart failure June 24 while Crist was in the process of naming him to the Tampa Sports Authority.
Diaco, 70, a specialist in sports medicine, retired in April after 33 years as team physician for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
Both were appointed for terms through July 1, 2013.
