ZEPHYRHILLS - Pasco County sheriff's detectives have identified a man found mortally wounded and unconscious in his car Tuesday on railroad tracks in Zephyrhills, and they say they are looking for a suspect in the homicide.
Detectives are searching for a 16-year-old boy suspected in the shooting death of Donald Watts, 60, of 7355 20th St.
Corey Lindsey of 39809 Cole Ave., Zephyrhills, is being sought on a charge of second-degree murder.
A warrant has been issued for Lindsey. He is considered armed and dangerous, sheriff's office spokesman Kevin Doll said in a news release.
Anyone with information as to his whereabouts is asked to contact a local law enforcement office.
Watts was shot near the intersection of Sixth Avenue and Airport Road, authorities say. About 1:45 p.m. Tuesday, Zephyrhills police officers reported the shooting to sheriff's deputies after they pushed the car off the tracks.
Watts was taken to Florida Hospital Zephyrhills in critical condition but was pronounced dead shortly after arriving.
Watts apparently owned Don Watt's Produce Stand but it wasn't clear whether the stand was still in operation or where it was located.
Authorities aren't releasing additional information at this time.
