4 Port of Tampa companies in line for stimulus funds

TAMPA - Four Port of Tampa businesses will get $10 million in federal stimulus funds for infrastructure improvements, U.S. Rep. Kathy Castor, D-Fla., said.

The awards are part of $98 million in U.S. Department of Transportation grants to 67 shipyards nationwide. The local companies are:

• International Ship and Marine Services Inc. – $2.2 million

• Tampa Ship LLC – $2.2 million

• Gulf Marine Repair Corp. – $4.1 million

• Riverhawk Marine LLC – $1.2 million

In addition to the $10 million for the shipping economy, the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act has directed $8 million to Tampa International Airport and more than $100 million to the Interstate 4-Selmon Crosstown Expressway connector, Castor said.
