BRADENTON - A 23-year-old motorcyclist died after running a stop sign and colliding with a vehicle in West Bradenton on Friday night, the Florida Highway Patrol said.

Jason L. Dean, of Bradenton, was riding a Yamaha motorcycle westbound on 18th Avenue West when he failed to stop as he entered the intersection at 51st Street West about 11 p.m., FHP said.

Dean's motorcycle was struck by a vehicle driven by Nicholas Dominis, 24, causing Dean to be thrown off the bike, according to a report.

Dean was not wearing a helmet. He was transported to Blake Medical Center where he was pronounced dead.

Dominis and passenger Samantha Klepek, 21, both of Bradenton, were not injured in the wreck.
