TAMPA - Four Port of Tampa businesses will get $10 million in federal stimulus money for infrastructure improvements, said U.S. Rep. Kathy Castor, D-Tampa.
The awards are part of $98 million in U.S. Department of Transportation grants to 67 shipyards nationwide. The local companies are:
•International Ship and Marine Services - $2.2 million
•Tampa Ship LLC - $2.2 million
•Gulf Marine Repair Corp. - $4.1 million
•Riverhawk Marine LLC - $1.2 million
In addition to the $10 million for the shipping economy, the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act has directed $8 million to Tampa International Airport and more than $100 million to the Interstate 4-Selmon Crosstown Expressway connector, Castor said.
