INVERNESS - Citrus County sheriff's divers have recovered the body of a 17-year-old who had been missing since he went swimming off a boat in Big Lake Henderson.
The body of Phillip Ledea, who lived in of the Miami area, was recovered about 9:20 a.m. He was last seen Friday afternoon swimming near his friend's 17-foot fiberglass motorboat.
Dive team members used sonar to aid in the underwater search.
The victim attended Miami Palmetto Senior High School.
On Thursday night, he and some teenage friends had travelled to Citrus County with the parent of a brother and sister who have a summer home here. The five teens had been out in the family boat most of the day on Friday when he jumped in to cool off and disappeared.
The body will be taken to the Leesburg medical examiner's office for autopsy.
