Thunderstorm warning canceled, but rain continues

The storms rung along the entire coast of the Tampa Bay area.

The severe thunderstorm warning for central Hillsborough County has been cancelled. The storm has weakened but will continue to produce strong, gusty winds, heavy rain and small hail.

Earlier, strong storms pushed onshore along the coastlines of Pinellas, Manatee and Sarasota counties.

Through 6 p.m., there will be scattered showers and thunderstorms over a large area from Hernando to Manatee counties.

Some of these thunderstorms may produce heavy rainfall, wind gusts of 30 mph to 40
mph, and excessive dangerous lightning strikes.
