TAMPA - Two men were caught trying to steal a refrigerator and a stove from a vacant home, Tampa police say.
About 8:30 p.m. Sunday at 7003 N. Coarsey Drive, the men pried open a door at the rear of the home and took out a stove and refrigerator, according to a police report.
A neighbor called for help, and when police came, the men were spotted with the appliances.
Police determined the men were planning to sell the appliances to a person who had no idea the items were stolen. Officers arrested 54-year-old Vincent Cogdell and 26-year-old Joseph Canterbury.
Police later determined Canterbury's vehicle had 80.5 grams of marijuana and two pieces of rock cocaine in it. Officers seized the vehicle, a 1992 GMC Safari.
Cogdell and Canterbury were each charged with burglary, grand theft, possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of cocaine.
The men remain in Orient Road Jail. Their bail is set at $14,000.
