CLARIFICATION: A 911 call was made from an apartment before a fatal shooting at Compton Place at Tampa Palms apartments July 12, but the person hung up before speaking to police. By the time police determined the call had been made from the home, Carlos Humberto Ibanez Arias already had been shot, Tampa police spokeswoman Andrea Davis said Monday. A July 14 Tribune story said Davis had said no call had been made before the shooting.
