Not even last year's record number of rain delays and daily thunderstorms at the Big East baseball championships could wash away Clearwater's chances of hosting the league's championship again.
Clearwater's Bright House Field has been awarded the conference baseball championships in 2010 and 2011. Next season's tournament will be May 26-30, 2010, according to the Big East's official Web site.
Last season's championship in May was deluged by daily rain delays and even featured an impromptu dance-off contest between the University of South Florida and Connecticut that has generated more than 600,000 views on YouTube.com.
In last season's Big East final, Louisville defeated UConn, 11-3.
Bright House Field, which is also the spring training home of the Philadelphia Phillies, also hosted the Big East baseball championships in 2008 and 2009.
Other cities that bid for the event included Louisville, Ky.
