HUDSON - Pasco sheriff's detectives are investigating a suspicious death near a homeless camp in Hudson.
A decomposing body discovered Monday night near State Road 52 and U.S. 19 is thought to be that of a homeless woman, according to sheriff's office spokesman Kevin Doll.
Forensic investigators processed the scene Tuesday morning.
The sheriff's office got a call about 5 p.m. Monday from someone saying that a body might be in the woods in that area, Doll said.
"It took us a number of hours to actually find the body," he said.
Investigators think the woman died at least a month ago.
They are not releasing who reported it but say they know who called.
That call is part of the reason detectives consider the death suspicious, Doll said.
There are "a number of things that make it suspicious, but we're just not commenting on it," he said.
