ST. PETERSBURG - Officials had to close 10th Avenue North just west of 34th Street North after an oak tree fell and caused bees hiving there to swarm. The 40,000 to 60,000 bees began swarming and people were moved out of the area after the tree fell at 12:30 p.m. Wednesday. The bees are Africanized bees that tend to be more aggressive, officials said. There were two beehives.
