Regarding "Grade changes 'misapplied,'" July 22:
Thanks to Pasco County school officials for giving new meaning to the word "misapplied." While some might call the action forgery, it does appear that schools and administrators have no clear, definitive guidance on how to grade a student's performance in the classroom. No one can imagine that any principal, on a whim, can determine that a student should receive an A instead of B-minus.
Having served as a school principal for 30 years, I can assure you had any principal in our district "misapplied" a student's grade, he/she would be terminated within 24 hours. However, in this instance it's likely that a bright political future for the principal and superintendent is in the making.
