WESLEY CHAPEL - Two people suffered minor injuries Sunday afternoon when three vehicles were involved in an accident at State Road 54 and Boyette Road.
Bernard Walker, of Tampa, was heading west on State Road 54 at 3:55 p.m. in a 2007 Ford box truck. Katie Remley, of Wesley Chapel, was stopped at the intersection facing south in a 1999 four-door Chevy.
When Walker crossed the intersection, he struck Remley, who was trying to make a left turn to head east on State Road 54, the Florida Highway Patrol said.
Walker lost control of his truck and it overturned on its right side. The truck struck a third vehicle driven by Temika Coker of Wesley Chapel.
Walker told police that he had a yellow light when he crossed the intersection and Remley proceeded to make a left turn. Remley told police that she had a green light, according to FHP.
Walker, 51, was transported to University Community Hospital in Tampa with minor injuries. Remley, 21, was transported to St. Joseph's Hospital in Tampa with minor injuries, according to FHP.
Coker was not transported to a hospital, FHP said.
