Lutz man charged with raping teen at Treasure Island hotel

An 18-year-old Lutz man was arrested on rape charges over the weekend after investigators say he sexually assaulted a 15-year-old girl who was taking a shower in his hotel room in Treasure Island.
Shannon Lee Alfonso was arrested Saturday night on a charge of sexual battery on a person older than 12. He was released from the Pinellas County Jail after posting $10,000 bail.
On Saturday evening, Alfonso picked up the girl, along with a friend of hers, and brought them to the Bilmar Beach Resort, 10650 Gulf Blvd., his arrest affidavit says. She was taking a shower in his room when he entered the shower naked and raped her, the affidavit says.
