NEW TAMPA - Viviana Cao loves to create arts and crafts at home in Cory Lake Isles. Her brother, Christopher, enjoys playing chess and working on improving his tennis game.
But don't be fooled by their adorable smiles and charming personalities - they can kick butt.
Christopher, 11, recently won a gold medal at the 2009 USA Taekwondo Junior Olympics & U.S. National Championships in Austin, Texas. Viviana, 9, brought home silver and bronze medals from the competition, held June 30 through July 5.
"I like making up dances and putting them in tae kwon do routines," said Christopher, who took first place in the boys' 12- to 13-year-old Black Belt First Dan Forms.
"He puts them together with Asian songs," Viviana chimed in recently during a summer camp session at Master Academy, a martial arts facility on Bruce B. Downs Boulevard where they have trained for three years.
Viviana earned a silver medal in the girls' 8- to 9-year-old Black Belt First Dan Board Breaking division and a bronze medal in the girls' 8- to 9-year-old Black Belt First Dan Forms Division.
