Plant City's annual salute to farmers on Aug. 12

PLANT CITY - Farmers will take a bow at 7:30 a.m. Aug. 12 at Plant City's annual Salute to Agriculture breakfast.

The event will be at the Red Rose Ballroom at Red Rose Inn and Suites, 2011 N. Wheeler St. U.S. Rep. Adam Putnam will be the guest speaker.

Awards to be presented include: Agriculturist of the Year, Craig Chandler; Ag Educator of the Year, James Dyer; Agri-Business of the Year, Harold's Farm Supply, Dover; and Supporter of Youth in Agriculture, Plant City Mayor Rick Lott.

Cost is $10 per person and reservations may be made by calling the sponsor, the Greater Plant City Chamber of Commerce, at (813) 754-3707.
