TAMPA – After an offseason of tumultuous change, the Buccaneers revisit their Creamsicle roots this morning by unveiling the 1976 throwback uniforms they will sport at home Nov. 8 against the Green Bay Packers.
Several current Tampa Bay players are expected to model the orange and white jerseys that haven't been worn since the 1996 season, before the franchise created a new identity by switching to red and pewter uniforms.
The throwback uniforms will be on display during an 11 a.m. news conference as Bucco Bruce makes an appearance at the team's plush facility a day before training camp opens under new head coach Raheem Morris and first year-coordinators Jeff Jagodzinski (offense) and Jim Bates (defense).
The Bucs will also institute a Ring of Honor in 2009, with Hall of Fame defensive end Lee Roy Selmon expected to be the first player inducted this fall.
