Arrest warrants have been issued for two Arkansas brothers in the recent slaying of a 45-year-old Sarasota man, police say.
Manatee County firefighters responding last week to a report of a fire near the Sarasota-Bradenton International Airport discovered the burning body of Roy Barnes Jr., the Manatee sheriff's office said. A motorist on North Tamiami Trail had noticed an orange glow east of the road and called 911.
Investigators say the slaying occurred in the 1600 block of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Way in Sarasota. They say it's possible the brothers, Corderia and Jemar Davis, have left the area.
