Main TIA parking garages will soon offer quick way to pay

TAMPA - It will become easier and quicker to pass through the 16 exit lanes at Tampa International Airport's main terminal parking garages within a few days.

Two SunPass lanes will be launched on Tuesday in a soft opening of the concept that is in place at the remote economy garage.

And all of the main terminal garage exit lanes are being equipped with automated credit card technology, which will enable all of the lanes to be used once the equipment completes testing, spokeswoman Christine Osborn said.

When the credit card system becomes operational, certain lanes will continue to be staffed to handle cash and credit transactions.

Signage will direct motorists to unstaffed lanes that can be used with credit card transactions, thus reducing back-ups at staffed exits.
