TARPON SPRINGS - Pinellas County sheriff's detectives served a search warrant Thursday on a Tarpon Springs business they say housed an illegal online gambling ring.
Detectives served a search warrant at Enless Fun Entertainment and Cyber Center, 38541 U.S. 19 N., at about 3 p.m. About $1,500 in cash, 39 computers and a 1989 Ford Econoline van were seized.
No arrests have been made. The investigation started in October after a tipster told the sheriff's office there was online gambling at the business.
Patrons purchased cards and then swiped the cards to gain access to the Internet, detectives say. The dollar value of the card was converted into points that were used to play slot machine-type games.
For $1, players received 100 points. Any points won by customers during the games could then be redeemed for cash, detectives say.
The investigation is ongoing.
