Democrats are continuing to out-register Republicans in Florida, particularly among Hispanics and the young, according to new figures derived from the state Division of Elections and compiled by the Democratic Party.
From Oct. 7 to May 1, 40 percent of new voters in Florida registered as Democrats, or 86,220 of the 218,074 new registrants, according to the figures.
Meanwhile, 35 percent, or 76,134, registered no-party, and 25.5 percent, or 55,720, registered Republican.
Among those under 35, the figures were 43,995 Democrats, 39,518 no-party and 25,406 Republicans.
Among Hispanics, there were 15,662 Democrats, 12,619 no-party and 5,134 Republicans.
