Ex-Gator Brown transferring to Tennessee

Former University of Florida defensive lineman John Brown is transferring to the University of Tennessee.
Brown, who was highly touted coming out of Lakeland High School in 2007, is currently attending Northeast Mississippi Community College.
Brown, who is 6-foot-2 and 300 pounds, never played for the Gators because of academic problems and injuries.
The Knoxville News Sentinel said Brown told Tennessee coaches about his intentions Wednesday. He will have two seasons of eligibility remaining.
"I love the fact we play Florida every year," Brown told InsideTennessee.com. "Hopefully I can have a big homecoming game there."
A broken hand kept him on the sidelines last season, and he has had knee and back problems after being redshirted as a freshman.
