A St. Petersburg police officer has been suspended for two weeks without pay because of a March crash in his cruiser.
Officer Adrian Owens also will be scheduled for "individualized remedial training" with the department's driving instructor, according to a police memorandum.
Owens was driving northbound on Martin Luther King Jr. Street near 11th Avenue North on March 7, when he made a U-turn and crashed into the front of a car about 9:45 p.m. He caused $4,290 in damages, according to the memo.
Owens had been involved in two preventable accidents in his police car in the past year and a half, according to the memo. He also was suspended for 40 hours following a February crash.
The board noted Owens' "positive attitude" during the investigation and said he was "forthcoming" and "honest."
