A teenager walking along a Bradenton street with his girlfriend was wounded Wednesday night in a drive-by shooting.

The 18-year-old victim, whose name is not being published to protect his identity, was shot in the leg and taken to Bayfront Medical Center in St. Petersburg, where he was listed in good condition, according to Manatee County sheriff's deputies.

The shooting occurred at 8:40 p.m. Wednesday in the 400 block of 61st Avenue East.

The victim was walking with his girlfriend to her house on First Street when a yellow PT Cruiser with dark tinted windows approached, deputies said. The front and rear doors on the passenger side opened and several shots were fired, deputies said.

No arrests have been made.

Anyone with information is asked to call the sheriff's office at (941) 747-3011, ext. 2552, or Crime Stoppers at 1-866-634-8477.
