The West Shore district's restaurant scene will continue to sizzle next spring with the opening of the upscale Seasons 52.
Darden Restaurants, which operates Olive Garden and Red Lobster, is planning a new Seasons 52 grill and wine bar on the site of the former Steak & Ale at WestShore Plaza. The Steak & Ale building will be razed and replaced, said WestShore Plaza general manager Jay Botsch.
This will be Darden's ninth Seasons 52 location and the first on Florida's west coast, a news release said. The restaurant is known for changing its menu with the seasons, and it touts relatively healthful food.
Seasons 52 offers a selection of 120 wines, including 60 available by the glass. Prices for its spring entrees run $11.50 to $26.95, according to its Web site, at www.seasons52.com.
The West Shore district already has an assortment of high-end steakhouses and fine dining restaurants, including the new Ocean Prime seafood and steakhouse at International Plaza.
