PLANT CITY - Rick Lott will remain the city's mayor for another term.
Lott was the unanimous choice of his fellow city commissioners to remain in the office for a third year. The five commissioners choose a mayor from their own ranks each June.
Commissioner Dan Raulerson cited Lott's proven leadership in nominating him for another term. Raulerson said the city faces a lot of challenges and "we look forward to following you into the next year."
Lott, a businessman whose companies include office equipment sales and car dealerships, said he appreciated the chance to serve again.
"I promise you I'll do my best. Thanks a lot for your support. I really appreciate it," he said.
Lott reappointed Raulerson as vice mayor

Plant City's mayor presides over commission meetings and represents the city at many events.
