It took 22 firefighters about two hours to put out a fire at a Polk County resort's clubhouse early this morning.
The fire broke out about 1:10 a.m. at the Bimini Bay Resort and Spa, 510 U.S. 27, Davenport, Polk County Public Safety Department spokeswoman Kristin Guira said.
Firefighters could see a huge black column of smoke as they approached and found 75 percent of the 10,000 square-foot building on fire when they arrived, Guira said.
Nobody was inside the clubhouse and there were no injuries, Guira said. Authorities have not released a damage estimate.
The state Fire Marshal's Office is investigating the cause of the blaze.
