Bright House investigating technical problems

Engineers at Bright House Networks are trying to find out why cable service to some customers keeps getting interrupted throughout the day.

The broadcasting problems are sporadic in nature and it is unknown how many customers are affected, Bright House spokesman Joe Durkin said. Some areas are experiencing intermittent interruptions while other parts in the Tampa Bay coverage area have had no problems, Durkin said.

Engineers are still trying to identify and correct the root problem, he said.

Customer Christina Ruhlig of Brooksville said she had been having issues with her digital cable for about two hours and her Bright House telephone line all day Wednesday.

The cable images freeze then skip, Ruhlig said, and she was not able to receive or make outgoing calls although her phone had a dial tone. Her Internet connection has also been slow.

"It's frustrating when you're paying for it and you're not able to use it," she said.
