Friday, the nation fully switches from analog to digital broadcast television.
WFLA, Channel 8, plans on unplugging its analog broadcast about 5 a.m., WTSP, Channel 10, sometime before noon, WTVT, Channel 13, about 1 p.m., others throughout the day.
Anyone without cable or satellite television will need a converter box or a TV with a digital tuner inside to keep watching their favorite shows. In the Tampa Bay area, Nielsen estimates 28,243 households, or 1.55 percent, remain completely unready.

DIGITAL TV TIPS
•Make sure you rescan for more channels. Some broadcasters will switch spots in the channel lineup or boost power so viewers may receive more channels.
•Digital signals also behave differently than analog so there may be patches of town where some stations reach better, or not as well.
•Anyone with questions about the changeover or the DTV box coupon program can call the FCC at 1-888-388-2009 or go to www.DTV2009.gov.
