TAMPA - A live interview with teen pop sensation Miley Cyrus on the "MJ Morning Show" today was cut short when WFLZ, 93.3. FM, personality MJ Kelli asked whether Jamie Foxx had ever apologized to her personally.
The line went dead before the 16-year-old "Hannah Montana" star could respond about Foxx, who made vulgar jokes about her on his radio show. Foxx has since apologized in an appearance on "The Tonight Show."
The sudden "click" after only a minute of polite chit-chat shocked Kelli, who told listeners that he had been given a list of things not to ask.
"I would be derelict if I didn't ask some personal questions," he said. "But this has never happened. I can't believe it."
Kelli, whose real name is Todd Schnitt, also said that Cyrus, who was calling from Savannah, Ga., probably did not hang up herself. He blamed it on an overprotective management that only wants Cyrus to talk about her new song and upcoming tour (which comes to Tampa in December).
"I was being as nice as I could and didn't think the question was out of line," he said.
Cyrus is in Savannah for the next three months to shoot her new movie, "The Last Song."
The only thing she revealed during the brief interview was that there was a big bug crawling on her bed that had freaked her out just as the call came in.
